Going off carnivore now

I have and I do @Fruno. They are all wonderful sources of information and have persuaded me that there is an absence of proper random control trial science being conducted in this area.

There are a lot of great hypotheses and even greater analyses showing existing scientific “beliefs” to be wrong but no-one is going to fund the research if they cannot make a buck out of the findings.

Zoe Harcombe does a great job of analysing scientific papers and demonstrating that they cannot reach the conclusions they have come to on the data they have disclosed.

You want science but seem confused. You’re completely wrong about needing plants for Omega6. Sounds like you think you have it all figured out there Thomas so why ask us to offer proof? Do your own research and believe what you like. Nobody is forcing Carnivore down your throat here. My statement about faith was meaning have faith in yourself if you choose a course and stick with it. You’re leaving Carnivore so do it. Follow through and see if what you believed is true. Not to blindly have faith in all you find on the internet. You want science but that’s often conflicting. You say plants aren’t toxic yet you list several examples where you point out toxicity. You say a 10% of people have difficulties with oxalates. Where did you find that scientific estimate and how could anyone know that number unless everyone stopped eating plant oxalates to see how world heath improved. You seem unsatisfied with everyone’s responses. You asked the question, we didn’t. I have no interest in changing your mind putting one drop of energy into that because frankly I don’t care what you choose. Your topic is confrontational. I do what works for me and you do what works for you. No need to ask us to prove a singe thing to you. You’re not open minded about the subject and seem to know it all so good luck with that. :cowboy_hat_face:

This is such a sad statement to me personally.

All plants are toxic because some plants are toxic to some people (depending on quantity consumed, genetics…)?

And I’m the one who’s not open minded? Yeah, right

It doesn’t take much looking to find plenty of solid evidence of omega-6s in animal sourced foods.

To retain any shred of credibility you should restate this modified in some fashion that could be supported with references or retract it as a careless mistake.

You’re correct, there is Omega-6 in meat. However, considering the hostility here I won’t continue this discussion. No point talking to people who don’t want to listen.

Anything with fat in it has Omega 6s. Anything, unless it’s man-made. The issue is, how much? We only need a few percent of Omega 6s, which is easily met by beef, for instance.

I can’t speak for the others but I apologize for my hostility. Realize I am not hostile to you or even your ideas many of which I find agreeable. For example, I find it perfectly reasonable that you were shifting your diet towards carnivore had issues and decided to back away from it despite not crossing various peoples’ threshholds of carnivore purity needed to sufficiently test the carnivore diet.

I am hostile to unsubstantiated unqualified assertions. I see plenty of them here and sometimes I challenge them especially when they are in stark contradiction to something I believe and think I can readily justify. I respect you for having withdrawn the assertion. I want to listen but with a goal of learning which requires critical thinking and sometimes expressing critical thought.

Hey, so, I’ve been getting into that Fire in a Bottle blog, and the last week or so have not been eating croissants, per se, but I sure did change up my diet this week.

I have been really very ketogenic for over a year. Lost 20 pounds, which I am not complaining about. But I went from a tight 16 pants to a not-tight 14 pants and there I stayed for months and months, getting rid of vegetables to the point where I could rightly say I was dirty carnivore. Still no body change.

I am currently sold on eating cacao butter and actual butter in order to increase saturated fats-- (bye bye bacon, shame on the American bacon industry grr) – so that I have plenty of oxidation in me to turn off my fat cell’s desire for more intake.

My mind has been so blown this last year! I was raised to eat whole wheat and safflower oil, wheat germ, avoid meat! Then I discovered keto! Then carnivore! Now eating whole sticks of butter on a potato. Next thing you know, it’ll come out that drinking water is unhealthy. I am simply flabbergasted.

You have my sympathy, @Fruno
