Frightening cholesterol numbers (and ratios)

Yeah, I think to adequately test the coffee hypothesis, you’d have to quit coffee for a while, eat the exact same diet (which means eating at the same times) for say 1 week, get tested, drink coffee while eating the same exact diet, for 1 week, get tested. Also, don’t change exercise either. Compare results. If you wait at all or change your diet or eat at different times, you might change the results.

And this is probably like everything else, some people’s values will change more than other people’s values will.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. So the consensus seems to be that my numbers aren’t necessarily all that frightening, and that the ratios are likely to improve with more time on the diet.

Coffee and coconut oil may be playing a role, but even if they are it isn’t entirely certain that the role is detrimental to health. My low-calorie days leading up the test may also have led to inflated numbers, as per the Feldman hypothesis.

But the main takeaway seems to be KCKO.

Thanks again.
