By going keto what are we really feeding?

Put on your keto ears and have a listen to Richard Harris narrating Richard Bach’s Jonathan Livingston Seagull.

It has been 6 years for me on keto. There have only been a handful of days in that time where I have not had positive blood ketones as I have tracked blood glucose and blood ketones daily.

When I started I had that conversion experience that is so often encountered and recounted in these forum post stories, where a person discovers something so good for them they want to share it with everyone, especially those closest to their affections. I love those stories, keep telling them, and that more often than not, the people do not listen. They are scared by the enthusiasm and energy.

Often they seek to bring the adventurer back to the safety of the flock.

These days the eating is automatic and subconscious. It’s just eating, no longer keto-eating. Dare I say it is, “natural”. The social acceptance remains an uneasy truce. Each day I fly. So I am left to wonder and reflect whether the ketogenic lifestyle is actually about eating at all?

Maybe that continual keto “high” is more about flying?

and learning.
