Yes!!!
Feel like death day 3 zero carb
Link in my profile, very top post are the best 10 tips I could think of to get started with carnivore, from someone who has done this almost 2 years.
Thanks Chris… I have to report I caved today… are some brocolli and half a tomato. I just felt like a zombie the last 6 days I don’t know if it was too little fat… I’m gonna give it a while and try again. Truth is I do like my veg sometimes and my brain does seem to work a bit better…
Unfortunately you’ll never know if you don’t give it its fair shot. And yes, probably not enough fat.
Yeah I totally agree. I tried carni last year as well that time i got four weeks in but I was struggling with fatigue. Maybe it’s just going to take longer to adapt. Do you drink milk or are you strict zero carb? I know some carnivore folks do
I do not condone dairy at all - it completely messes with my digestion and causes excess fat gain. Same for the majority of people whether or not they admit it.
Ok folks we are two hours post brocolli and my bloating and stomach growling is somewhat off putting. First time I’ve noticed this but my stomach has really expanded… tomorrow is day one again!
Yeah apparently the caso morphine in cheese is as addictive to us as cocaine. Cocaine depending what it’s cut with would therefore be a better ZC option
illana slightly off topic but how do you calculate macros? im currently looking towatds keeping protein at around 12% carbs 5% andf fat 83% this would mean having to do 73g of fat per meal which to me seems quite a lot
Carbs is usually reckond as an absolute value. This can differ depending on individual factors but <20g a day is normal because that gets the majority into ketosis/ fat adapted.
Don’t measure fat - eat to satiety. Our body’s will tell us what/how much is needed, we just need to learn how to listen.
Thanks helen for the reply. Yeah i was concerned i wasnt getting enough fat but as you say probably best to eat to satiety. Something i keep forgetting!
My macros are 50 grams of protein and 117 grams of fat. I don’t really plan my meals around trying to hit macros. Instead I use tracking as a tool to examine how various macro combinations make me feel both with respect to health and appetite. I also find it helpful to keep an eye on food combinations that take me way off track.
I only enter my meals after I’ve eaten them. If I see that a meal results in an overhigh protein:fat ratio then I’ll either not make it again or modify it so that it’s significantly fattier the next time.
As for getting loads of fats at meals I have no trouble. Here are my macros for a couple of days ago. It was a very high fat day and all except 34 grams came from a single meal.
Wow! 130g of fat from one meal. Thats impressive thank you for the advice.
That was a very high fat day. I’m much more frequently under my 117 gram macro. What was funny was that I hit my all time lowest weight the next morning!
