Fasting prior to keto giving me worries

Welcome to the forum, Paul. I am sure that you will love it here, as we all do.

Keto is awesome, I love it, as we all do, but slow and steady wins the race =).

Just eliminate all sugars, all processed foods, and eat 20 grams of carbs a day, high protean foods, green leafy vegetables, and good fats, like extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, avacodo oil (and well avacodoes themselves are delicious) and drink tons and tons of water =).

Its worse than that. Keys tried to ruin careers of researchers who dared to question his saturated fat heart hypothesis. They couldn’t get their papers published and were not invited to key conferences. Criminal. And I suspect (no proof) that Keys was somehow paid off by Big Food because of the lavish lifestyle he lived. How many researchers can afford a second home in Italy? And afford to spend a lot of time there?

You’re likely getting potassium from foods like avocado too. A high potassium to sodium ratio will drop your bp like a rock and may cause heart arrythmias so don’t add potassium. Lack of sodium is the number one cause of feeling weak or dizzy as you transition to keto, whether through fasting or carb elimination. Your kidneys will flush more sodium from the body with reduced insulin.

Hi all

Now on day 11 water fast. Its not been easy, tiredness has been the worst. Get into a hot bath and cant get out…feel so light headed…woooo, whats that all about.

Also, have got rid of my Diabetes dawn phenomena high blood sugar. For days now its been between 4.8 and 5.5…never had it down that long…ever…Also have chucked my Metformin in the bin and not on any Diabetic meds…Why didn’t my dumb Doc tell me to do this years ago…Oh yes…money forgot about that…

Yesterday I felt crap. Today I feel good. Mentally clear but still knackered…don’t know why.

Anyways, we all usually go out Friday nights for a beer and my buddies think I am a nutter, they drinking beers, me on Soda, ice, mint leaves and cucumber,…Guess who drives them to the pub and back…but I am happy, down from 84.7Kg to 77.4Kg, and from 2 belt notches to 4/5. So 3 kg to go to my goal…I am a happy bunny…I have a waist and flat belly (ish) last bit doesn’t want to go.

Another thing is, I feel so comfy, I don’t want to break my fast, food doesn’t shout at me anymore.

Annoys my other half a bit, her troughing me watching…having said that from her comments I suspect she would join me on another fast. She is a little …Ahem…generously built…She would then see it as a reason for new clothes…:laughing:

When I do break my fast thinking along the lines of first, a small glass of Kefia, then later in the day, a small glass of chicken bone broth. Next day the same but bit larger amount.
I want to stay away from fruit as I now want to go completely keto and keep my insulin down as much as poss.
Suggestions anyone
