Failing glucose test

Do you donate blood? If you are getting a high score, from older red blood cells…
You could try donating blood. Then go in 3-4 days later and have your A1C tested.

A 3 for insulin is “KETO OPTIMAL” in my book. It’s where mine was, prior to my CIRS exposure.
And I was doing a lot of fasting. Zero Carb.

What does your CGM Say? Your finger sticks?
Based on what you said… I would argue you have older red blood cells, because they are living longer/healthier because of so much less glycation, so the turnover is slower…

Finally… How do you feel? (If I have a choice of “great test scores”, or “feeling amazing”, I will take the second… Now if it’s “feeling amazing”, and horrible/obvious signs of disease, bleeding gums, etc. etc. Then I would try to figure it out)

I feel great. My BG numbers aren’t in line with my A1C and I knew I’d fail the OGTT spectacularly. I wish there were studies or research showing this can be a normal situation for those who are on Keto long term.

Just an update to this thread. I had a doctors appointment last week to discuss my massively failed oral glucose test. He laughed and said to me “ well you did tell me that you would fail this test spectacularly, and you were right “. Lol. He had enough insight to see all my other markers didn’t match up with my A1C and the failed test. It’s his belief that I have little to no risk of having issues related to diabetes or insulin resistance, and he told me I was his model patient and to keep doing what I’m doing. I was not expecting that at all but I’m very pleasantly surprised. He seems to understand this more than most doctors. Yay!

Excellent!
