Eating Bacon Grease

#21

Yup! Got a separate faucet for my drinking/cooking water on my sink and it’s also running my freezers ice maker.

Can you please expand a bit on this… I am no expert in this, all I’ve learned is that fluoride is bad. What does this hydroxyapatite do?

(KM) #23

It’s basically bonemeal, and remineralizes your teeth

I like Bioniq toothpaste. It’s a German brand I can get in the UK. Expensive though

I found a recipe years ago that my son - a toddler at the time - and myself used.
1 tsp Bentonite clay (calcium, not sodium)
1 tsp Xylitol
1 tsp water
1 drop peppermint essential oil
Mix in glass container. Do not use metal
container or utensils

I really liked the way it cleaned my teeth, and it was safe for my son to swallow (unlike flouride). There are quite a few variations on this but I like the simplicity.

Pro tip/life hack: I rub bacon grease on my nose as my family has a history of skin cancer on the nose and bacon grease is like 100 spf.

It’s also apparently an aphrodisiac if these forums are anything to go by.

I’ve been using this one. I really like it. I won’t go back to “regular” toothpaste.

Maybe I should try Lena’s toothpaste recipe, I’m really not a huge fan of baking soda.

(Alec) #31

Do you have a reference for this anywhere? It is intriguing… I use a beef fat based “cream” on my head as a skincare product, but my assumption was that it would enhance the sun’s effect (a bit like frying!!), not provide any sun factor protection.

BTW, I am not disputing your statement here, I really don’t know anything about it, but I do find what you’ve said very interesting.

(KM) #32

It’s actually the bits of scrambled egg that add the sun protection.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Nope, probably hyperbola, but commercial sunscreen seems like toxic mess to be sitting on your skin. I use coconut oil as my main sun screen. That I’ve read is 4spf. I’ve used fish oil from my salmon before, seems to work. All the skin cancer cases around here seem to be on the nose, cheeks, face.

#34

It’s a mineral we make anyways (calcium basically) that will remineralize the teeth. When you use it you brush as normal, then you do another pass, but then you leave it on and just spit out the extra but don’t rinse, as it sits there your teeth soak it in.

#35

We have that in the states too, but it’s only like $10 IIRC, which is right around what most of the good ones are, the one I use (Boca) is $12 I think, I might start rotating them. I’ve only used Bioniq once since that’s actually in some stores, I gotta get mine online. To be fair, “only” meaning compared to other good toothpastes. The garbage ones are like $3 I think.

(Skip Cody) #36

Been known to blend it in my coffee, it is really good, and delicious!

(Doug) #37

Dang, Skip, 89 months… Been a while. Good to see you. :slightly_smiling_face:

(Robin) #38

Hmmm… l can imagine that combo. I usually put my coconut oil in coffee, but will def try that!

And nice to meet you!
