Well there is a price to pay, literally. And I don’t ever finish the whole 12 oz… my dog always gets the last bite.
Dilemma- Eating beyond satiety VS eating multiple small meals
Pre keto, I couldn’t finish a 3 oz steak. Now… I could probably easily devour a 12 oz!
LOL. I grew up with just one older brother but we were VERY competitive when it came to eating. Who could eat the most. Who could eat the fastest.
My first date with my ex was at a Burger King for lunch (safe date). I tipped the scales at around 115 so he thought I would eat like a bird… more like a vulture as I proceeded to wolf down a whopper with cheese, fries and a chocolate shake and wasn’t a bit self-conscious about it!!!
One of my sisters-in-law recounts the first date with her husband-to-be, a big guy, 6’ 4" lawyer, and apparently not used to women eating much. Sister-in-law is 5’ 2" but can EAT. They both ordered at a restaurant, and before too long he’s reaching over to take some of her food, assuming she wouldn’t eat it all. She grabbed his hand and put a stop to that, right away.
It’s bedtime and tv time. I just want my old usual pack of string cheese and goldfish crackers.
LOL! I am also 5’ 2” and wish I still had that metabolism to eat like that! His parents came to visit us in Wyoming so we took them to Jackson Hole for the weekend. We had dinner at a local Italian place and they just stared at me while I wolfed down a HUGE platter of chicken fettuccine Alfredo and never stopped. They fell in love with me!
When all of mine finally left home a lot of mysterious smells left with them. Then new weird smells appeared - turns out it was our first ever leftovers
I’m doing the same athletic training you are doing. My husband always rolls his eyes when I tell him I need more meat. He thinks I should only eat 4 oz. at a time, I can do that but I want another 4 oz. right after I finish the first. And so it goes.
Happy New Year
I think it’s more that it’s meat than anything else - I was a vegetarian for a very long time & took to eating meat with some gusto
My father gets a real kick out of it too .
Well, I would lose a meat-eating contest to you ladies, but, it is my favorite food group!
There seems to be some difference of opinion whether protein or fat is the more satiating.
Ted Naiman places a lot of credence in the protein-leverage hypothesis, and it certainly sounds plausible, so why not try a bit more protein?
In any case, please report your results. I’ll be fascinated to know what works for you.
And hey, visit my accountability thread - I have resolved to be a reasonable person.
For me it is protein - but confounded by the fact that I love fatty meat. So I am getting the best of both worlds.
