Overall calories, I have a protein goal that I hit regardless as I found out going with lower protein doesn’t do me any good and led to muscle loss over time but try to do it within my calories. I adopted the ketogains mindset where fat is the macro I play with to gain/loose weight. Still eating plenty of fat but not looking for reasons to be crazy with it like I did in the beginning. Other plus for me is using cronometer for a while now I can add notes and go back and look at calorie vs weight vs carbs vs bodyfat etc basically anything you want to combine (with the paid plan) and correlate a whole lot of stuff you wouldn’t be able to otherwise. Lots of guessing and waiting for stuff to magically happen set me back to far. I wanted #'s.
