I was looking up nutrition for snow crab legs. It gives large amt of carbs. Is this true?i
Crab legs
Really?
First, what exactly is a snow crab?
What does the USDA say?

I believe it depends on preparation:

I think they’re zero, like most crabs.
I think the amount of carbs in any unprocessed meat* is incidental and not worth counting.
But this thread has inspired me to an n=1 test. I’m going to buy a couple of pounds of snow crab legs, melt a stick of butter and see if it drives up my BG
*this means real crab, not the imitation crab crap
I was talking about real crab. I can eat it tonight and see what happens but my blood ketones have been 1-2 for several weeks and I hate to ruin it.
I’d be interested to see if it actually drove insulin up as well. That’d be a more expensive test though, I think.
Might you post a link to what you’ve found? I’m not saying you didn’t find it, I’m just a bit skeptical of the source.
Man… Crab feasts with the mallets and the claw crackers… so much fun. A thing I miss about living in DMV.
So I saw the high carb count on the red lobster nutrition and also. I also thought my fitness pal showed it as having 30 carbs for 1/2 lb but now it says 0.
My blood ketones are 2 this morning and I ate 1 lb of snow crab legs last night! I am so happy I can eat crab legs!
