I just started making my own dressing, because I like not feeling that I have to measure it with a teaspoon and because I want to know what is in it. Specifically, I want to make sure to stay away from any bad oils that might be added (canola, corn, vegetable). I make a lot and it keeps, plus knowing what is in it, I am comfortable using more than I might normally with a bottled dressing. I used this site and have made the blue cheese and honey mustard, both very good. I know they list a recipe for ranch and cesar, as well as Italian, which I was also looking for.
Counting Calories? Newly Keto
I’d stay away from any processed foods. Like Katie said, if your meals are adequate and satiating, you will find that you don’t need something to carry you in between. After eating three good meals a day for a time, you may even find that your body doesn’t want or need to eat as often. At that point, many people naturally switch to eating two meals a day or doing 16:8 or 20:4 fasting. Just don’t rush it - it will come naturally.
Best.
I think you got the message.
Never feel like an idiot; you are just starting and learning.
Trust the process. It hasn’t been that long. There is a lot going on inside you and metabolically. I am 5’7" as well, and I have lost 58 lbs. to get to your starting weight. Yes, I’d like to lose about 20 more, however, I think I am looking pretty good - moral of the story is that you don’t have very far to go, so you aren’t going to see huge swings on the scale. I do believe, though, that your weight loss will surprise you, especially with eating so well. At some point, you may experience a “whoosh,” which is when your body learns that it can release the water in the fat cells that it is hanging on to (you can check it out here). Even though the scale isn’t moving as quickly as you might like, you may find that your body shape is recompositioning (is that a word?), and your clothes fit better.
KCKO (keep calm and keto on).
