I’ve recently started this program because of heart disease and very high LDL. Started taking a new drug Repatha, which has cut the LDL in half, but am experiencing some memory loss as a side effect as with statins. I’m 6’1" and about 155 lbs and have started to lose weight, which I can’t afford. I know, what a problem to have! Any ideas about how to find an MD or nutritionist that can help start me on this road and be successful? My family doc will not be sympathetic.
Calling Health Care Professionals
I am not a healthcare professional, however I am feeling the benefits of the low carb lifestyle and feel energised to help others along the way.
I recently came across the charity…
…Advisory Board members of which include Dr. Aseem Malhotra, Dr. David Unwin, Dr. Joanne McCormack, Dr. Ian Lake, all UK doctors. There is also a UK map on their website showing GPs who are registered with PHC as Real Food advocates and that’s probably the closest we’ll come to Keto friendly GPs.
Given the aims of the charity, it gives me some hope that the Real Food movement is gathering significant momentum in the UK.
More helpfully, it gives patients a good reference to point their GP to if they find themselves in a conversation about what they have learned about the diabetes-busting benefits of a low carb diet.
I hope this helps.
