Totally agreed. I replied to them specifying I do keto
Buffalo meat has carbs?
I know this topic is old but I just started eating this same bison meat. I donât know if I believe it has that much carbs but it does smell and taste tangy like lactic acid. Iâve ordered bison meat from another company that field harvests them as well and it had the same tangy smell. I was worried it was going bad but maybe this is just how it is?
Another question I have is how does this lactic acid affect the body? I have struggled with a lot of gut problems after surgery and tests repeatedly show I have no lactobacillus. I donât eat dairy, and sauerkraut is too sour for me. Is there a chance I would get any lactobacillus out of this meat?
I donât have an answer for you but Iâve never tasted anything off about bison. Maybe because we raise and butcher our own on occasion. Itâs my favorite meat with elk coming in a close second.
If it has an off putting taste it may be your source. It maybe what the animals are fed. There could have been something in the processing.
Bison is one of the best meats a person can eat in my opinion. In fact when I first started eating it I just smiled and said, âThe Indians had it rightâ.
Have you tried goatâs milk, such as yogurt from goatâs milk, or raw milk (if you can get it)?
Listening to this now:

Or:
The interviewee owns a raw milk dairy, an extremely large one.
I canât really verify anything heâs saying though. He says there are 100s of studies in Europe of raw milk, and I did a quick search for some. I did find some, but it would take a while to find 100s of studies. One website I found was interesting, because it was a discussion of different studies where kids who drank raw milk has fewer allergies and asthma, but I think the studies where epidemiological (look at kids who drink raw milk versus those who do not) instead of randomized trials (give some kids raw milk and some not, then compare). I find epidemiological studies hard to interpret, as there are so many other factors that can affect the outcome.
âsuper market bisonâ (that is, ground beast packaged up from Costco) tastes just like regular lean ground beef to me. I have never had any small farm or wild bison to compare that with.
It doesnât have an off putting taste, and I prefer it to beef. Beef seems bland compared to bison. It just has a strong tangy acidic smell and a bit of an acidic taste as well. The bison meat is grass finished and fed and they shoot them in the field instead of bringing them in somewhere so they are under very little stress. Like I said it doesnât taste bad and I still strongly prefer it to beef but I canât tell if thatâs how itâs supposed to be.
Iâve spent a lot on raw dairy a2 cheese, European and American, goat, sheep, and cow. My body just doesnât tolerate or want dairy anymore it seems.
