Only one amazing @Brenda <3
Anyone else out there who is "normal?"
Casey, the episode I spoke about is live. Here is the link if youāre interested >>https://40plusfitnesspodcast.com/keto-tastes-great-maria-emmerich/.
I guess we all have our own definition of āNormalā but I think that there is a lot more important health benefits to Keto than just losing weight.
I am not overweight or have any of the health issues that come with metabolic syndrome but I started Keto to help prevent these issues in the future.
I think that better health should be our priority when choosing to follow this life style.
Yes. The ketogenic diet fixed my depression too. Thatās what actually made me stay. Then it cured my diabetes. Then I lost a fuckton of weight. Then I built a fuckton of muscle.
And the wonderful list goes onā¦
@David_Sharpe I think salads will be good when we get out of winter (which for LA should happen pretty soon - folks from colder climes are probably laughing at me now). And of course bacon makes everything better.
@Steven_Cook Huh, the yogurts I had looked at had been relatively high carb, so I guess I need to look around a little more.
I was worried about not staying in ketosis, but since Iām only maintaining weight, probably not a big deal.
Hi there, not diabetic and started this with my husband to see if it would help me to lose weight. Well, it definitely did that, but it also helped with my PTSD, anxiety, sleep cycle issues, allergies, essential tremor, supra ventricular tachycardia, short term memory, digestion, and joint inflammation issues from my Ehlers Danlos syndrome. It was all much better than it sounds really, I had years of experience at riding that razor bladeās edge and am not much of a kvetcher, but to not have this great weight of issues to balance while shuffling through life is such a blessing. My steps have become a dance again and Iām ridiculously happy about it all. Doesnāt mean all is perfect, but the level of good now is absolutely the heavier side of the scale.
Everyone has an opinion and people who donāt know about this WOE will have quite definite ones because the only information they have is the guidelines weāve been taught our entire lives and keto goes against so many of them. Do what you feel is best for you, itās your body and your life. Donāt worry about any personās opinion who doesnāt inhabit your body.

āThe Japanese researcher Dr. Akira Endo is credited with finding the first statin. When asked why he wouldnāt take it for his own high cholesterol, he answered with an inscrutable Japanese proverb, āThe indigo dyer wears white trousers.ā To make sense of that you need to know indigo dye is toxic.ā
One of the side effects of taking statins is increased blood sugar, as this study explains: http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1586/17512433.2015.1011125.

Fats I enjoy: heavy cream and / or coconut oil in coffee, olive oil on green salads and fish, and gobs of butter on broccoli or Brussels sprouts.
Unfortunately, Iāve just decided to eliminate all dairy because the hormones in it may make my cancer grow. So now I use coconut and olive oils and I found a mayonnaise made with avocado oil.
I donāt have any of those things either - no insulin resistance, no PCOS, ETC - totally normal. But I lost 50 lbs on this woe - very slowly - and noticed many other benefits. I had gerd for years - gone. Arthritis in my neck and hips - gone. Tired all the time - I have much more energy now. Its so anti-inflamatory; I just love it. Good for my skin too. Iām 62 so weight comes off slowly, but I didnāt care - in maintenance now.
