Any updates on what your Doctor(s) did after your revelation? Did you provide them info, etc. What was most convincing to them?
Any lessons on convincing the medical profession would be very useful to everyone.

Hi Rob
I’ve had a further 2 Hba1c tests since this post and both dropped several points further down the scale.
With his blessing I also hacked my lipid panel by following the Feldman Protocol and he tells me I’ve opened his eyes up to many things he previously thought to be true because that’s what they’re told in med school.
He’s also told me that they no longer routinely tell patients it’s a progressive disease and advise them that good blood sugar control (and potential remission) can be achieved by following a low carb high fat diet.
Im obviously over the moon with this!
ABSOLUTELY AGREE! I was diagnosed T2 in summer 2016. Very High A1C of 11.7% and immediately put on insulin. Horribly depressed by this, but my doctor at least gave me a little hope. He said if I could get < 7%, I could stop insulin, and recommended the best way to do that was to lose weight. He said about 25% of newly diagnosed T2 who lose significant weight are able to get back to normal blood sugar levels.
I did exactly what you did and turned online for research. I finally found a few people talking about reversing diabetes through low carb and started slowly reducing carbs. I was afraid at first to go super low carb, being on Insulin and a couple other medications, so my progress was slow. In 6 months, I lost 25 pounds and got A1C down to 6.0 and stopped using insulin. I’m still on some medications and I’m using keto and intermittent fasting now to try to lose more weight and get off all the meds.
Well done on your achievements thus far cat
I’ve not lost much more weight since the original post as I think I’ve hit my set weight point. It’s frustrating as hell because despite feeling tons better I’m still ‘officially’ obese.
I desperately want to change this.
I think the only way I’ll shift this now is by introducing some sort of lifting/exercising regime.
You might also want to check out the fasting forum. A lot of people have found that to help, as well.
WHOAAAAA a fricking Doctor sees the light?!?!?!
That - right there - is the start of the revolution!
as @PaulL said above - look into fasting. My life has changed in the 4 months since I discovered fasting. Yes, changed for the better
Aerobic exercise and resistance training can work wonders for musculature and the cardio-vascular system.
Keto WOE is best for regulating nutrition and energy sources the body uses.
From what I have learned on my Keto journey, trying to use Diet to do Exercise’s job, and vice versa, is not really effective
YMMV
