Dave's Progress Thread - Year II

(Ellen) #621

Hugs to Shelby, might be a pita now but hopefully better in the long run for her.

#622

Thanks, Ellen. Yeah, she’s running out of legs to be worked on, so hoping this will be her last visit for anything like this! Though this is a hard cast, like the first one, it is lighter and has a little give to it, so she seems to be able to get around better already. :+1:

(Virginia ) #623

My beautiful little fur baby, love her so much… I feel so bad for her.

Thanks again for the new shirts and cami tops you picked up for me today while you were out… Love you. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts::kissing_heart:

#624

You’re quite welcome. :kissing_heart: Love ya too… Glad you like them. … And yeah, but at least she’s seems to be getting along better with this lighter cast already, as you saw today. being the first day with it, I’m optimistic she will fare better this time and hopefully will just get better.

And yes little lady… you may get your markers out again.

(Virginia ) #625

Maybe sometime today or this evening.

Week 46: Well, I’m back down -2 lbs. this week, but this is still just minus the gain I showed last week. I’ve been thinking about this, and the only thing I can mention or think that could have caused this is the re-introduction of Dairy? Can’t say this is what caused it for sure, but it is the only thing I can recall changing… So basically (not to be TMI) but I haven’t been going to the restroom as much, seeing sometimes 4 or 5 days between? So I do believe I’m holding onto foods much longer, though I’m not feeling bad or anything, just being as regular. (At least this is the only difference I’ve noticed?) … Still not a big deal and no worries, but did want to mention it. I’m thinking maybe it’s just a transitional stage of having dairy back in the mix, but still watching my intake of Cheeses. Will see how things progress.

Dave

I’m finding as the weight is dropping and my metabolic conditions reduce, I’m more sensitive to things that before I would not have normally noticed. I’m come to the conclusion that I don’t tolerate any wine at all. I can drink 1 to 2 glasses and gain 2 to 3 lbs for a day.

I haven’t given up diary and hope I don’t have to.

I’m also getting closer to carnivore. I’m simplifly what I’m eating mid day, when I eat. Eggs are now my go to food. Somethings with other protein. today I had some liverwurst which now tastes really good. Is this my body telling me what I need to eat?

Oh well… Have a great day today. I hope the bad weather we are expecting doesn’t get as far north as you are.

#628

Thanks, and yeah, I’m mostly a meat eater and mostly have always been. And of course Eggs are a big favorite as well. … I’m not sure if it’s just eating Dairy, as much as it was giving it up for a month, & then having it reintroduced that may have caused this? … Because before I went Dairy free for that month, I was seeing constant number drops. So it may just take a little time to get back where it was?

Yeah, the weather has slowed my Garden start, since the afternoon rains came in early the other day, and run through the night and most the next morning. Now I still haven’t finished tilling, since it’s too wet but it’s no big deal, I hope to have it planted by next weekend, if possible. Have a good one.

#629

Well, unfortunately the soils are still a little too sticky with wetness to be tilling without clogging up every few minutes. But I did stay out for a few hours and cut the grass. Wasn’t real tall, but it’s getting to that time of year when mowing on weekends becomes a ritual for me. But it also gives me a chance to relax & enjoy some music. (plus it’s not hot yet, so pretty comfortable) Mostly listened to Pink Floyd today.

Edit to add… I did decide to go downstairs after cutting grass and get on the treadmill. I only walked for about 40 minutes or so, (little over 1.5 miles or so) but started feeling some small jolts, or clicking in my right knee. So I stopped before making it sore or anything. Feels great actually, but baring on the side of safety. … Plus my work just texted about a storm that is approaching, and wanted to know if we have anyone scheduled to work the stations, so pulling the weather now to determine if I need to have some of my folks come in or not. So the Total Gym will probably have to wait now, though I wanted to.

(Virginia ) #630

Minus 2 is better than another plus week…Hang in there Honey, like several people have told you, sometime it takes several months to get back to normal after surgery… it may not have anything to do with the dairy at all.

#631

Yeah, I know. Thanks  But I really do think this was the Dairy this time though. I may not have seen much in the way of changes during the Diary Free Month itself, but I think I’m surely seeing them now though. Since reincorporating Dairy, I have ‘felt’ a difference. … But we’ll see in the coming weeks.

And as you already know, I don’t worry about the number on the silly scale, but having a constant trend (one way or the other) tells me much, much more though.

(Virginia ) #632

You’re welcome.

I know, you will get it all figured out.

#633

I’ve been drastically limiting dairy the last few weeks & have noticed a difference in how I feel. Bit bummed about it if I’m honest & have no intentions of giving it up altogether but I think I will likely continue at a reduced intake.

#634

I concur and completely understand! :+1: … I really do like Cheese and Butter mostly, but think I will be limiting Diary once again to a degree myself. Here and there I might have ‘normal’ amount in a certain meal, but overall think I will look at cutting back/eliminating when possible. If anything to drop % of use.

But for the next couple weeks, I want to see if I somewhat keep things ‘normal’, and see if I’m slowly going back to where I was before the Dairy Free month? (sort of a test I want to do) But after those couple weeks are up, I will be looking at cutting back a whole lot more to see what comes from it.

#635

I only cut it because I’m doing a mini-cut of sorts & it was an easy target :slightly_smiling_face: I’ll be interested to see how I go when I increase it a bit :crossed_fingers:

#636

As would I.

#637

I’ll let you know if anything interesting happens :+1:

#638

I must have been more tired then I thought… Tonight ate dinner and shortly later fell asleep for a very rare nap and slept for a while. … Sleep hasn’t been that good the past 6 weeks or so for me. Two nights ago was the first time in many weeks I wasn’t woken up by Shelby, wanting to go out. (Usually between 2 and 3am) But the 2 younger Pups stepped in to make sure to take care of that one, when they woke me at 2:30am, freaking out due to the thunder storm that was hitting us. (They really hate the thunder) This along with me getting up multiple times to go the bathroom again, hasn’t been fun. … For a while when first starting Keto, this stopped for a bit, but I have been drinking a lot more these days too.

(Jane) #639

I saw on the food porn thread you were fighting some bug and I wanted to say I hope you get over it quickly and are feeling better soon.

#640

Thanks, Jane. Yeah, not sure what the hell it is, but yes, it’s been kicking my ass. … I’m really hoping to be over this by the end of the weekend, but that’s just hoping. :crossed_fingers: Thanks again.

Actually just on here to shut the computer down. We have a massive storm hitting with Tornado warning until Midnight or so. I just don’t like leaving it on in case of power-outages.
