I couldn’t find the recipe on the Keto Family pilot podcast, so I jotted it down. I was quite happy with it and one bagel is quite filling!

These look great. Thanks for typing it up! And, wouldn’t be complete without a side of Ginger!

:joy:

Never is in my house!

Thank you so much for sharing! I’m looking to replace the bread in my kids sandwiches, will these keep in the fridge so I can bake a batch and use them during the week?

(Tim W) #5

Any tips for those of us without a mixer?

Thanks!

Tim

Yes! They’re perfect for kids lunches. I stored some in the freezer too for the following week.

I think you’ll just have to accept having a good upper-body workout.

(Maybe briefly warming up the cheese in the microwaving without melting would help.)

These look amazing! I was going to ask if the pup got a sample

She’s always holding out hope, but didn’t get to this time.

Thanks for posting the recipe,

Jalapeño cheese keto bagels would be good!

(Jason Leonard) #13

That does sound good! I’m going to have to try that… I can just taste it with a lot of cream cheese on it.

I’ve made these and they are great. The recipe I used called for 1T of baking soda however.

I did make one version that tasted like the Panera Bread cinnamon crunch bagel. I added cinnamon and sweetener. Then topped it with a cinnamon crumble made from almond flour, cinnamon, sweetener, butter, and crushed pecans.

Me too Jason. That used to be my favorite bagel. I have to try this recipe this weekend :grinning:

OMG I love you- this looks amazing. Thank you for posting!!!

(Jason Leonard) #17

I’m going to have to try that!

(Insert witty quote here) #18

Thank you thank you for posting this! I listened to the pilot, and tried to find the podcast in Google Play, but couldn’t. :frowning: Maybe it’s not actually started up, yet? I can’t wait to listen to it frequently! Hopefully, the’ll include the recipes in the show notes, or on their podcast website, if they end up having one.

(Jason Leonard) #19

Yeah, I don’t think they’ve published the podcast yet, so it can’t be found on it’s own yet. Sounds like there will be a Keto Family and Keto Kids podcast individually published on their own. They’ve also hinted at some other spin-offs too…

Finally got around to trying these.

My batch never seemed to get quite dough-like. I was able to scrape it into a ball, but it really wanted to stick to my fingers while I was rolling it out. Managed to get the 6 balls, flattened them a bit, and made a hole, but they came out pretty flat (less than an inch thick). Should they have risen more while baking?

Made a tuna melt sandwich with a split bagel, and held together enough to act as “bread”, so I’m not unhappy with the recipe, but wondering if I got the mixture quite right.

One thing is I used almond meal, rather than almond flour, so I wonder if that made a difference?
